Andeer is the main town of Schams. It provides rather an original sight: this collection of habitations gathered together criss-crossed by two cobbled roads that wriggle their way between the rows of houses. The ''veia granda'' (the big road) was designed between 1818 and 1821 in conjunction with the expansion of the passes Spluga and San Bernadino. A secondary road the ''veia pintga'' or ''filistrina'' (small road) heads off from the town square parallel to the first one.
Flanking the cobbled roads and adding much to the town's style are a collection of magnificent houses which more often than not reflect the influence of Italian architecture.
The Spa at Andeer boasting its mineral waters at an attractive 34°, plays host to pools both inside and outdoors, a sauna and a health centre where it´s possible to enjoy hydrotherapy treatments.
